Spring harvesting- All our great work of feeding the soil is paying off with a good harvest of beetroots, corn, strawberries, squash all coming in. The tomatoes are on their way and hope to get a crop soon.
the sun flowers are ready to burst forth so hopefully it will all happen at the bush carers party on 6th December.
Pests: We have some mealy bugs (sticky white+ yellow soft body bugs about 2mm long) chewing underneath the potato leaves so had to pull out and take away the infected plants. I sprayed the rest with the natural oil and will make up another batch of garlic spray. One of the citrus trees also had lots of ants swarming over it possibly eating the juice from the aphids. Gave this a spray too but will have to watch as the sprays, although natural also kill the good bugs too like lady birds.
JOBS:
Stake the passionfruit
Prep a bed for carrots - loamy loose soil/sand
Seed raise- zucchinis and flowers
Mulch and feed gross feeders such as citrus, corn- fortnightly
Start on back beds, pumpkin and marrow have gone in beds 1 and 2
Stake tomatoes
